Summer Internship Program -
Hospital Administration/Operations and International Opportunities

Available only at The Methodist Hospital, the Summer Internship program is an innovative, collaborative unpaid summer work internship program for graduate students interested in a career in hospital administration/operations. Designed to provide students with a valuable health care learning experience, interns work directly with high-level executives on a variety of operational and financial projects.

Additionally, interns participate in the Summer Lecture Series, a series of roundtable discussions with senior leadership throughout the organization.

Carole J. Hackett, RN, BSN, EdM, CPLP serves as the summer internship program director and preceptor, and meets with the interns throughout their internship to guide their experience. The 2013 Summer Internship Program will span 10 weeks, beginning June 3, 2013 and ending August 9, 2013. The 2013 deadline for Summer Administrative Internship applications is March 1, 2013.

As part of The Methodist Hospital's Internship program, Methodist International (MI), the international division of The Methodist Hospital System, offers a summer internship for graduate students who are interested in exploring opportunities in international health care consulting, and facility and program development. Interns will work directly with the MI team, including executives, and will interact with MI's affiliated institutions in various capacities. Assignments typically involve financial analysis, regional feasibility studies, clinical/operational program planning and strategic planning.

Individuals with foreign language skills and availability for international travel are preferred for the international program.
